I promise to be back with a real post tomorrow, but I just wanted to say I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THE HUNGER GAMES! I am not going to the midnight showing... maybe if I wasn't all huge-pregnant and sleepy. It use to be my favorite thing. Midnight showings have the BEST audiences. We are going tomorrow night however and I could not be more excited.
I feel inexplicably proud that I discovered this book before the majority of people. I actually first heard about it when reading an interview of Twilight author Stephanie Meyer (EMBARRASSING!). She listed it as one of her favorite new books, and that one statement may have been the most intelligent and influential thing I have ever read that came from the mind of Stephanie Meyer. I mean I obviously love Twilight, but I'm just sayin. Anyhoo I read it back in April of 2009 in the span of about 6 hours while laying by a pool in Palm Springs. When I finished I immediately reached over to the chair next to me and made my sister start reading. I knew she would love it because we are basically the same exact person (only she is way skinnier, shut up I'm pregnant!)
{This picture may seem random, but I believe it was taken during the approximately 3 minutes in which I had read The Hunger Games and Emily had not. Sucker! I was first.}
In a strange coincidence, my very beautiful mother just finished the first book and is on to the second. Where is she reading these books you might ask? Why in Palm Springs of course! That is how we roll.
Anyone else busting out the gold eyeliner and seeing the movie this weekend? Let me know what you think (but NOT before tomorrow night! There can still be spoilers, even if I already know what happens. I'm serious. Quit laughing at me.)
I'm going tomorrow night, too, so excited!!! :) I'm way too lame for midnight showings, I like to have a few hours of sleep in by then.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand hunger games? I think I missed the bandwagon! I will find the book!!!!
ReplyDeleteYessss! What theater are you going to? Maybe we will be at the same one! ;)
ReplyDeleteEmily! How can you understand it if you haven't read it!? I promise you will finish it in like a day and be ready for the next one.
